Admission Requirements

National Diploma (ND) Admission Requirements

(Full-Time and Part-Time – Based on NBTE IBASS)

To be eligible for admission into any National Diploma (ND) programme, applicants must meet the following conditions:

• Possess five (5) credit passes at not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB examinations.

• Credits must include English Language, Mathematics, and three (3) other subjects relevant to the chosen course.

• For ND Full-Time, candidates must have sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and selected The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti as their first choice institution.

• UTME subjects must include English Language, Mathematics, and two (2) other subjects relevant to the programme.

• All full-time applicants are required to participate in the Post-UTME Screening Exercise and must meet the departmental cut-off mark.

• ND Part-Time (Evening/Weekend) applicants must satisfy the same O’Level requirements, but UTME is not compulsory. Such applicants will undergo internal screening by the Polytechnic before final admission.

Higher National Diploma (HND) Admission Requirements

(Morning and Evening)

Applicants seeking admission into any Higher National Diploma (HND) programme must possess:

• A National Diploma (ND) in a relevant discipline from an NBTE-accredited programme, with a minimum of Lower Credit (CGPA 2.50).

• Evidence of one year of post-ND industrial experience for those with Lower Credit, or two years for those with a Pass grade.

• Five (5) credit passes in relevant O’Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.

• An official academic transcript sent directly from the previous institution to the Registrar, The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti.

• Attendance at the departmental interview or verification exercise before final admission.
